Celebrating the 100th Day of School

We are a “celebrating” people. We celebrate births. We celebrate birthdays. We celebrate losing a first tooth, great report cards, winning special sports games, graduating, getting accepted into college. Let’s face it, celebrating things is fun, and especially during a challenging time like the Covid-19 pandemic!

It just so happens that Mrs. Mattix, SSCCA’s Kindergarten teacher, loves to celebrate, and what better to focus on when you’re learning to count to 100 than the 100th day of school?!

Counting to 100 is just one of the many math skills our SSCCA Kindergarteners will have by the end of the year. They will also know how to count sets of coins, addition facts to ten, subtract one/all, number comparisons, calendar skills, time to the quarter hour, story problems, measuring in inches, and skip counting by 10’s, 5’s and 2’s. This excellent math foundation is not only fun, but it sets our students up for great success in first grade!
